El Molino Viejo
1816 - 2016
Celebrating 200 years!
There are exciting things happening at the Mill!
Next up on the Old Mill's Pomegranate Patio: Quarteto Nuevo, Saturday, August 27.
Thank you to Promenade String Quartet for filling the evening air with the lovely and lively sounds of Dvorak’s “American” Quartet and Haydn’s Quartet no. 5, op 75, along with a special set of songs from Armenia.
The Old Mill Foundation is grateful to have received a grant from Los Angeles County to complete some much needed restoration work on our beautiful 200 year old adobe, El Molino Viejo. We hope that you will stop by to see the changes, Tuesday through Sunday, between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Next up will be the renovation of the Caretaker's Cottage, circa 1930, and we are actively soliciting donations to aid us with this endeavor. Stop by, or call the office to learn more.
Quarteto Nuevo will perform on Saturday, August 27, on the Old Mill's Pomegranate Patio. A few tickets still remain.
Quarteto Nuevo’s master musicians create emotionally-charged soundscapes with instruments and sensibilities from very different parts of the world. Their unique instrumentation ~ cello, guitar, soprano saxophone and hand percussion ~ richly colors their wide ranging repertoire, from Erik Satie to Chick Corea to original works. You won't want to miss the final concert of the summer series.
