2016 Summer Concert Series
The Old Mill Foundation is pleased to announce that Magical Music at the Mill, chamber music under the stars will return to The Old Mill in summer 2016. Each evening will feature a different chamber music ensemble performing on the Pomegranate Patio surrounded by the Mill’s beautiful pomegranate trees and lush gardens. In addition to enjoying the fine music, concertgoers are invited to view the building, learn about its history, and view the latest California Art Club exhibition, The Old Mill: Celebrating 2 Centuries in the Mill’s gallery.

About CHROMA Salon
Four musicians who met at Pasadena Conservatory of Music and discovered they share a passion for breaking down the formalities of classical music performance. They are CHROMA Salon, voice and strings performing a spirited mix of classical, tango, ragtime and film score music combined with theatrical elements, including dance. Classics with a twist!
The group is led by violinist, Erika Walczak who has performed on numerous motion picture soundtracks, and performs regularly in Las Vegas with Rod Stewart. Violist, Mary Kelly, is the director of the violin and viola program at the Conservatory and has performed with the Wichita Symphony and Grand Opera. Bass player, Sherry Luchette, is a Cleveland, Ohio native, now living, teaching and performing in Southern California. Operatic vocalist, Elif Savas is an award winning soprano from Turkey. Her voice can be heard on many films, documentaries and commercials.
About Promenade String Quartet
Promenade String Quartet is a fast rising young string quartet composed of four very talented musicians. Promenade performs Classical and Romantic music, as well as original arrangements of popular non-classical music.
Promenade’s musicians include violinist, Ray Reinebach, who has a diverse career recording in the music entertainment industry, while also performing in the leading chamber music orchestras in Southern California. A native of Yerevan, Armenia, Azat Fishyan began studying violin at the age of seven, and at the age of ten debuted as a soloist with the Yerevan Chamber Orchestra. He received his Bachelor of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Violist, Phillip Triggs is currently Assistant Principal Viola of the Santa Barbara Symphony and has performed with many orchestras. He currently teaches on the faculty of Concordia University, Santa Ana College and the Orange County School of the Arts. Cellist, Ashkhen Gasparyan is a talented musician from Yerevan, Armenia who has performed throughout Armenia and much of Europe as a soloist and chamber musician..
About Quarteto Nuevo
Quarteto Nuevo’s master musicians create emotionally-charged soundscapes with instruments and sensibilities from very different parts of the world. Their unique instrumentation ~ cello, guitar, soprano saxophone and hand percussion ~ richly colors their wide ranging repertoire, from Erik Satie’s “Pieces Froides” and Chick Corea’s “Tales of the Black Forest” to Traditional Macedonian “Gadjarsko” and original works “Hector, Desmond and Titus,” “Rain Song” and “Dizer O Que.”
Quarteto Nuevo’s members have performed and/ or recorded with the following:
Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Moscow Symphony, The UCLA World Jazz Ensemble, Dave Brubeck, John Tesh, Supernova Quartet, Jay Z, among others.
